If you've checked out other pages in this section, you've noticed we try to tell a little bit about the place where folks have dropped their trousers to bare their Skivvies. But searching the web for info on this little burg of 3700 that's practically a part of East Syracuse yielded nothing. Just so ya don't go away with nothing, however, we'll talk about the Minoans on the isle of Crete!
The Minoan civilization is rooted deep in myth and legend. Its name is derived from the legendary King Minos. The most famous legend associated with Minoan Crete is of the minotaur and the labyrinth. According to legend, King Minos subjugated Athens and required the city to send seven young girls and seven young boys as a sacrifice to the minotaur every nine years. Gosh, sounds like this is how the Catholic priests got their start!
