at Underwear Affair™
Underwear Affair™ raises funds for work on cancers below the belt like prostate, colorectal, ovarian, testicular, bladder, cervical and uterine. Participation in the L.A. venue benefits City of Hope, a leading research and treatment center in the northeast L.A. suburb of Duarte. Why are these cancers considered “taboo?” These cancers affect areas of the body that may be uncomfortable to talk about and some people may not want to see a physician to get screened. This can make care and treatment an unexplored option to some of those who need it. Shedding light on these cancers means greater awareness and funding for more research and better treatment.
There are other venues for this annual event but Baby Bloomers run/walk in L.A. for 2008 won the Top Fundraising Team honors! Their team is very proud to have raised over $14,000 and they said they were especially proud to do their running and walking
(and accept their award onstage) in Hippie Skivvies!
